National Identity and Civil Status Registry (Renik) reported this Sunday that the number of births nationwide has declined over the past nine years. According to the institution, this may be due to the low number of marriages and the average age at which people decide to get married in the country. Peru.
In 2012 alone, 738,945 births were registered in Peru and abroad. However, from January to May 2021, the figure was 318,007.

Finally, the average age at which Peruvian men and women decide to marry is also another factor influencing these results. Men decide to get married at an average of 37 and women at 33, in contrast to 2020 when 25% of men and women got married between the ages of 25 and 29.
