A young engineer known as Jomer Castillo Palomo (aged 29), died of a gunshot wound while walking along Carlos Izaguirre Avenue in Los Olivos.
National Police explores the origin of the shots, putting forward several hypotheses. It could be a confrontation between criminal gangs in the area where a stray bullet hit the victim.
At the crime scene, forensic experts found up to five shell casings.
Colonel PNP John Mundakathe chief of the 1st police department of the North, confirmed that the victim has no records, so the contract killing hypothesis loses weight.
“Investigative actions are being carried out, there are up to two or three hypotheses. (…) There are videos that can identify the person who apparently fired. I can’t express my opinion,” he said.
They ask for safety
The neighbors demanded from the authorities olive trees Nonetheless National Police increase patrols in the area, which is a constant crime scene.
“It’s almost every day,” complained one person who wished to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals.
