A few weeks ago, 7-year-old Enzo fell into the pool at a friend’s house. “He was able to come back because he was on the edge, but suddenly he got scared, says his father Bernard. We would like him to be more comfortable, more confident and enjoy the water.” The little one still does not dare to put his head under the water and finds it difficult to go where he does not have a foot. That’s why, last Wednesday, Enzo put on a wet suit provided by the Gironde department and started the “Objectif nage” program, in which his parents enrolled him; ten free swimming sessions at Begles Lake, near Bordeaux.
Experienced in the Gironde since 2014, the system operates in 14 municipalities and initiates around 700 children between the ages of 7 and 13 during the summer.
