You publish “Catechism of Spiritual Life”. Has the modern world forgotten the meaning of spiritual life?
I wrote this book on lockdown. I was amazed. we cared for the life of the bodies, but let the souls die. Spiritual life, however, is what is closest, most precious to us. It is our inner life. The place of our meeting with God. To deny the spiritual life is to deny that which constitutes our dignity as a man or woman.
Without an inner life, what is greatness left in our lives? What remains that eludes the laws of the market and matter? The spiritual life is the untouchable sanctuary of our freedom, the secret place where we seek truth and love, where we are alone, facing All, facing God.
Why do you use the pedagogical method of the catechism, you could write a treatise on the spiritual life…
The Catechism is a simple reminder of the basics. I didn’t want to write a treatise…
