From today, the work of janitors in the capital Lima is prohibited: what do the rules say?

After a wide-ranging controversy surrounding the operation of windshield wipers on public roads, yesterday, Wednesday, a resolution was adopted Municipality of Lima which prohibits this activity in the capital.

Decree No. 2538, signed by Rafael López Allaga, Mayor of Lima, was published in the Official Gazette. In terms of procedure, the ordinance states that the Office of Inspection and Control may “leave” dishes used by mobile windshield washers.

“The Inspection and Control Department is authorized save tools and utensils that offer cleaning services for the windshield or other parts of the vehicle, to the extent provided for in Article 3 of this Decree, without prejudice to the application of the sanctions provided for in Decree No. 2200-MML.

How long will the results take?

“By the time the decree is issued, those who clean windows and tires already know that they cannot engage in this type of activity in any public place. They know very well that they will no longer receive gifts or tips, that is, they will not waste time. There will be a minimum of them until they disappear,” he said.

In this sense, Gago Perez it is believed that in less than 30 days there will be no more those who perform these tasks.

“In less than a month, those who clean windows and tires will disappear from Metropolitan of Lima. In this regard, we also rely on Serenasgo and the police to enforce this order,” he said.

Likewise, the councilor of the commune of Lima has indicated that there will be no economic sanctions against those who do this work.

“There are no financial sanctions or anything like that, because we believe that these people do not have enough income. And not for those who drive vehicles,” he stressed.
