Last Friday, Metropolitan Council of Lima approved draft municipal ordinance who sought to ban traveling services wipers in Lima. In statements for rotary airSeveral drivers supported the measure and indicated that it would reduce crime.
Pedro Valer, a driver who works on Oscar Benavidez Avenue, says itinerant window cleaners are intimidating drivers into paying them for their services. Therefore, he spoke in favor of approving the municipal ordinance.
“There have been a lot of crimes. Mostly it is not the Peruvians who do it, but people from abroad. It had to happen for them to understand that it was wrong. They are already taking action, yesterday the mayor said that this will be done around the entire perimeter of Lima. Previously, it was said that it would only be in Surco, nothing more, but now they are expanding it. It’s very good,” Valer said.
Another driver named Hernanwhich lays the route along Arequipa Avenue, indicated that such a number of janitors are no longer visible after the ban on activities.
“A little, one or two, no more. But not everyone can be judged. There are people who work legally, clean up quietly, and there are those who do not work, who go to hell. Not now, I don’t see it. There must be rules, and if no one likes the rules, let them go their own way. People should work but not cause harm,” Hernan said.

Lima Metropolitan Council approves ban on janitors in the capital
Last Friday, Metropolitan Council of Lima unanimously approved a draft resolution banning the work of janitors in the capital. The measure, promoted by mayor Rafael López Allaga, was adopted by 39 councilors and the burgomaster himself after several debates in different commissions.
“We salute all the councilors of all the benches who supported this measure, because it is obvious that this has led to consequences that have damaged the civil safety of all the inhabitants of Lima. This ordinance has been approved for the entire area of metropolitan Lima since then. it was published in the newspaper El Peruano, I also have to say that what we are doing here is in addition to the norm, that is, the rules of the road, which were approved in its article 67, that all pedestrians must move on sidewalks and not on avenues or in places where motorized vehicles pass,” Lima’s deputy mayor said. Renzo Regiardo.
