Carlos Bruce on janitors: The instruction is to destroy by force “those who engage in this activity.”

Yesterday, Sunday, the municipality of Surko issued a mayoral decree, which established that “outpatient activities windshield washer and others on public roads is an activity forbiddenin the specified jurisdiction.

“The novelty of the mayor’s decree is that physically destroy them because they endanger not only the lives of third parties, but also their own,” he added.

Asked about the presence of children who also clean windshields, the mayor said it was “not normal”.

“It’s not normal that there is children in the middle of fast avenues (…) and therefore cannot be there not only for their own inviolability, but also for the inviolability of third parties. So they will be physically destroyed in these places,” he said.

With regard to providing enough Serenasgo troops to oversee compliance with the decree, Charles Bruce indicated that the municipality has the necessary staff.

“When we arrived, we had 900 guards, and now we have 1,700. We have 100 patrol cars, and from today the integrated patrol starts to function. That is, today we have 100 police officers every day, who gather guards who are on board patrol cars so that night watchmen and police patrol the entire area,” he said.

“We believe that we have enough troops to clear these major intersections from the persons carrying out this activity and from the parking lots of shopping centers,” he added.

On the other hand, Bruce Montes de Oca pointed to the motivation behind the measure and how it would affect the public.

“The first sanction applies to the one who performs this activity. What’s going on in Groove is that there are windshield wipers who, after washing the glass of a car, when it lights up red, if they do not pay the amount they consider sufficient, they show a stone that threatens them so that they pay an adequate amount, ”he said.

“This also happens to car wash people in parking lots who, after providing a service, if they don’t pay what they want, scratch people’s cars,” he added.

In this sense, it is justified to impose a sanction both on those who carry out the activities of janitors and car washes on public roads, and on those who allow them.

“That’s why we impose a fine on those who carry out this activity (…) And also fine a neighbor who voluntarily engages in this activity. I say voluntarily, because if you are at a red light and someone comes to wash your window and show you a stone, there is nothing voluntary there, and you are being blackmailed,” he explained.
