An explosives identification dog helped the National Police locate 320 sticks of dynamite hidden in a cardboard box. This hazardous material was on an inter-provincial bus bound for the city of Tarma.

The dynamite was sent by parcel to the Nuestra Señora de la Merced transport agency, but no one picked it up in Tarma, so the item was returned to Lima. This is where the explosives could have been found.

Colonel Ivan Pimentel, head Emergency department of PNPpointed out that the staff Udex and a dog named Kaiser found these sticks of dynamite, which could cause misfortune.

“The cartridges cause the process of crystallization, which means that with movement they cause an explosion. With this amount, the apple could have disappeared, and all the passengers inside the bus would have died,” he said.

Pimentel indicated that whoever sent the package would be investigated and that it would be kept secret for the time being. At the same time, he pointed out that in recent months there have been cases of extortion using sticks of dynamite.
