SJL: Unidentified gunmen shot dead two men sleeping at the door of the house

The two men were killed early Tuesday morning near a house located on Los Economistas Street in the Jaime Zubieta urbanization in the San Juan de Luringancho area.

Witnesses said three unidentified men in a red motorcycle taxi were passing through the area when two of them got out of a smaller vehicle and fired directly at the bodies of the victims.

The attackers fired approximately four shots at two victims, hitting the head and chest.

The victims were left homeless in the area

PNP Major Carlos Canales, Commissioner of Canto Rey, specified that one of the victims was identified as Jair Ponte (22), who has a police file for hit-and-run, aggravated robbery, making, selling and using weapons since 2021. So far, the second victim not installed.

“You can see two subjects with different gunshot wounds. Neighbors indicate that these subjects are mostly homeless in the area and that they sleep in the park. The owner of this house indicates that they first came to the rest (…) one of them was able to introduce himself as Ponte Akapana Jair José, 22, who has several complaints,” he said.

According to the neighbors, Jair Ponte spent the night near the park in the urbanization. he even sold candy and nougat to survive. However, early this morning, he decided to spend the night with his partner with cardboard on one side of the house.

Criminal experts arrived at the scene of the crime, and officials from the State Ministry ordered that the corpses be removed for transfer to the Lima Central Morgue.
