A group of protesters move along Alfonso Ugarte Avenue, in Cercado de Lima, on a new day of protests against Congress and the government of Dina Boluarte.
These people previously focused on Area May second to then start moving towards the Plaza Bolognesi oval.
With black Peruvian flags, along with banners with phrases related to the demand for the resignation of the President of the Republic, the protesters will begin their movement through the city center.
The demonstrators are under police protection, which is also deployed in abankay avenue and San Martin Plaza in the center of the capital.
In addition, demonstrators from Cusco mobilized with flags and banners against the government across Peru Avenue towards the center of Lima. PNP agents accompany the march.
Some neighbors handed out bottles of water to the protesters, while others expressed their opposition.
Presence next to Jorge Chavez
Similarly, the protesters passed through the San Martin de Porres area and the Callao region in the direction Jorge Chavez Airport where the police denied them access from Thomas Valle Avenue.
There were even discussions between drivers and protesters as they occupied the lanes, obstructing the movement of vehicles.
O, Lima Airport Partners reported that the police authorities and the armed forces protect the integrity of all users and employees of Jorge Chavez International Airport.
Congress still hasn’t reached a consensus
Demonstrations continue at the national level and even block roads until there is a consensus in Congress to approve a bill to advance this year’s elections.
On Monday, the re-discussion of the initiative to advance the elections was approved by 66 votes after last Friday’s failure to garner 87 votes. However, the plenary session, which was supposed to discuss this proposal on Tuesday, postponed the discussion until Wednesday at 11 am.
