This is not the first time that astronomers have seen a rock from space hours before it hits Earth.
As noted by the European Space Agency, the meteorite crossed the Toronto sky and fell over the city, turning into a harmless fireball.
Witnesses reported seeing a bright flash of light as well as the sound of re-entry and even shaking, likely from the sonic boom.
Earlier it was reported that the NASA spacecraft on Mars recorded the fall of two of the largest meteorites.
