Podcasts hosted by Acast are now ad-free for Amazon Music subscribers

Podcasts that can be listened to without interruptions and, above all, without ads. This is the basis of the agreement signed on November 3, 2022 between the broadcaster Acast and the music streaming platform Amazon Music. Starting today, Acast podcasts will be ad-free for Prime members and Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers. Indeed, the e-commerce giant bought the podcast’s ad inventory from Swedish company Acast. The ads in question are usually broadcast by Swedish podcasts on all platforms where they can be heard.

In addition, the agreement allows members to listen to Acast podcasts through the Amazon Music app and on all types of devices, including smartphones, tablets, PC/Mac, Fire TV and Alexa-enabled devices such as the Amazon Echo.

Finally, listening to podcasts will generate income.”to a network of creatorsAcast elaborates in a press release. By buying the advertising space from the host, Amazon agrees to pay the share that Acast should have collected through advertising. The Swedish company, in turn, will donate a part to the creators of podcasts.

Through this agreement, Amazon enhances its listening experience and continues to expand its catalog. As of November 1, subscribers of the music streaming service have had access to 100 million music titles, compared to 2 million previously.
