La Poste group’s digital subsidiary Docaposte has joined forces with 3D software expert Dassault Systèmes, operator Bouygues Telecom and Banque des Territoires to develop a French cloud computing offering, the companies announced on Wednesday.
Still subject to approval by competition authorities, the project, called Numspot, is intended “mainly for French economic and institutional players” in sensitive sectors (public, health, finance).
According to the consortium’s press release, it’s due out in 2023, “with the ambition to become the trusted reference cloud offering.”
Numspot’s offering will be based on the cloud infrastructure of Outscale, a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes, which already benefits from the SecNumCloud qualification issued by Anssi, the French public agency that oversees IT security.
It will also provide access to Digital Trust Solutions from Docaposte, the project’s leading company, which notably offers remote identity verification, e-signature and digital archiving systems.
“Docaposte will contribute to Numspot’s success with a deep understanding of public sector and healthcare expectations, an ability to support organizational transformation, and a recognized expertise in digital trust services,” said: Docaposte CEO Olivier Vallet is quoted in a press release.
Although the cloud market is largely dominated by US networking giants (Amazon, Microsoft and Google), several consortia have formed that claim the “trusted cloud” label, which is protected by the government to guarantee the security and privacy of data that must be maintained. developed in the European territory.
Two mixed Franco-American bids have already been announced: the Blue consortium, made up of the Microsoft technology solution operated by Orange and Capgemini, and S3NS, which matches the Google technology operated by Thalès.
