Police, firefighters, gendarmerie, SAMU… in total, more than 300,000 agents will make a big leap with the future radio network (RFN). On Thursday morning, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin launched a major project to upgrade the means of communication for security and emergency actors. This project is part of the Orientation and Programming Bill of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (LOPM) for 2022-2027, which should have a budget of 15 billion. Two billion will go towards upgrading the digital tools and networks used by these services.
In this context, five companies have been selected as a result of a tender to equip law enforcement and emergency services with a new telecommunications solution for a total of €700 million.
