The Autorité de la concurrence imposes a new fine on Altice, bringing the fine to €75 million. The case dates back to 2014 and Numericable’s takeover of SFR, which has since become Altice. The transaction was accepted by the Autorité, taking into account the obligations assumed by the buyer, in particular the compliance of the joint investment agreement signed between SFR and Bouygues Telecom, regarding the deployment of fiber in dense areas.
In 2017, Altice was hit with a €40 million fine for the first time for failing to meet commitments it had made. The fine was then accompanied by several prohibitions, which were not “done correctly“. The Autorité notes that although “ about result obligation which is owned by Altice, the company failed to pay the liens within the time allowed. This prompted the ADLC to announce this new sanction.
