Invasion Honour into the cell phone market after the break with Huawei quickly rose. With high and mid range equipment, he only needed to reach the low ranges, and he began to do so with his X family.
So, and after the Honor X8 review, we at NIUSGEEK have a new device for those with a more limited budget, Honor X6s. At first glance, it seems like a team already seen, but with a more balanced power for the price. Can you convince us?

Design
In general, this Honor X6s It takes a lot from the X8 in terms of colors and rear camera placement. It’s elegant and rest assured that more than one clueless person will ask you what model of iPhone it is. What I have to say is that the difference in quality is felt to the touch. Nothing unexpected considering the price difference.
The material of the back panel is plastic with semi-flat bends. Our model is matte silver but with a nice shimmer that gives it hints of blue and purple.
The rear camera module is a raised square (very low profile) in the top left corner. There he carries his three lenses and a flash.

On the sides, we basically have volume up/down buttons on the right side, in addition to a fingerprint sensor that also works to lock the device. I’m assuming the hardware is working properly in this section.
On the left is just a SIM slot (you can add two) and a microSD card.

On the bottom side, we have the largest number of features. It starts with the always-needed 3.5mm headphone jack (although there aren’t any in the box), a reset button, a USB-C port, and a single speaker in the box. This one is also reliable and has a good sound, but its location always complicates if, for example, we play with the equipment horizontally.

6.5” LCD screen. I do feel a bit dim in some situations, but overall I didn’t feel any bugs other than a lack of outdoor brightness. Covered with factory plastic.
At the top is a waterdrop notch for our front-facing selfie camera.

weight It’s 194 grams, perhaps influenced by its 5000 mAh battery, which we’ll talk about later. Honor X6s It is comfortable in the hand, it is not very heavy as it seems, and it does not get smudged with fingerprints, also because we can also protect the equipment with the included transparent cover.
It’s important to note that this particular model is the X6s because it has 128GB of onboard storage. The standard X6 tops out at 64GB. There are no other additional differences between them.
In general, a design that attracts not only with similarities with other brands.
X6 performance
The team is not the most flexible on the market, but it has good pluses and especially one minus that I’m not used to.
Honor X6s It comes with a Mediatek Helio G25 processor accompanied by 4GB of RAM without the Honor Turbo option (the company’s technology for borrowing internal storage as if it were RAM).
In performance, I felt that the team hiccuped, although not often. On two occasions I had to restart my phone because 1) the unlock button gave me a screen with nothing on it and 2) because WhatsApp wouldn’t open for some reason and without any explanation with no other apps in the background .
Besides, multitasking This allows us to do what we should expect in these input ranges: switch between social networks and one companion app or another. Navigation between menus, folders, and settings is also decent, but not outstanding.

And I find it curious because in some games, the cell phone behaves, I would say, in an outstanding way. For example, with pokemon unite I was able to play at 60fps with low graphics quality without any performance hits. I didn’t expect this at all. For him Call of Duty: Mobilethere was already some suspicion even of the same graphics quality, but there was nothing to be afraid of frame drops.

The strong point is that it comes with modern android 12 with the company’s own layer called MagicUI in its version 6.1. In particular, I like that it’s a simple and minimally invasive layer, and that it has one of the latest systems to make the model more secure.
I must remember that Honour This allows you to install all Google services if one is still wary that this brand is in a situation similar to that of Huawei.

screen It’s the right size, and the colors in the images are outstanding, so it wasn’t difficult for me to adapt it for media. We have a typical 60Hz refresh rate, depending on the power provided by the hardware.

One of the company’s promises Honor X6s this is one of the greats autonomy and, indeed, he fully observed it. 5000 mAh for the entry range is brutal and the team got me up to two days without needing to charge it (not gaming, of course). Of course, when doing this, take your time, because we only have a 10W charger, which I have already weaned off: in half an hour it charged me 20% of the total. Give yourself an idea.
Concerning Photo, we have a 50MP wide-angle sensor and two 2MP lenses for macro and depth. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel lens.
I feel like 50MP is misleading and more related to the processor we have and has been on the market for a few years now. Don’t get me wrong, the photos are generally in the range we’re in, but the quantity can make users demand more detail from them.

The colors are more pleasant in natural light and good sunlight, although they do not fade indoors either.

Slightly more affected is the selfie camera, which takes slightly blurry pictures and suffers a lot in the absence of light.

AT videowe have a maximum recording option of 1080p at 30 fps and a digital stabilizer that works smoothly.
And finally, I personally do not like price. 799 soles for equipment in the store Honour They do not seem like a hefty amount to me, although I understand that the brand sets the bar high in order to stimulate the purchase of equipment along with operators. However, more and more users are choosing an unlocked team over a contracted team, so it might alienate more than one team (and I don’t blame them).
Should I buy Honor X6s?
East Honor X6s It has more than compelling specs considering it’s meant for the entry-level range, but its entry price makes you forget them. That’s good, it has excellent autonomy and its power will be enough for the main social networks, but its cost is discouraging, considering, for example, the X7, its brother, is below average, costs only 100 soles more and comes with more power.
If you can get it for an average of 600 soles without so many hurdles (hardware upgrades without postpaid contracts), I would consider it a gift for a less demanding person. But for 799 soles, I would sacrifice the design and choose another option on the market.
