Americans won the Nobel Prize in Economics

As you know, this award, unlike the main nominations, was established by the Swedish National Bank, in memory of Alfred Nobel.

“They have greatly improved our understanding of the role of banks in the economy, especially during the financial crisis, an important takeaway from their research is why it is important to avoid bank failures. The current research clarifies why banks exist, how to make them less vulnerable during crises, and how their collapse exacerbates financial crises. The foundations of these studies were laid out by Ben Bernanke, Douglas Diamond and Philip Dybwig in the early 1980s. Their analysis has great practical importance in regulating financial markets and overcoming financial crises,” the press release notes.

Remember that the Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded for discoveries in the field of quantum informatics. Alain Aspect, John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger will receive the award.
