Doctors say that in the 21st century a new disease called nomophobia has appeared. Its essence lies in the fact that a person does not see the meaning of life without gadgets. This is stated in the medical online hub DOC.UA.

Nomophobia is the extreme fear of not having your mobile phone. Earlier, American scientists proved that about 66% of people are subject to this fear. Men are more affected by it.

Symptoms of the disease:

  • a feeling of chaos and panic the moment you can’t find your mobile;

  • trembling hands, discomfort and fear without a phone;

  • anger, hysteria, panic and dizziness, rapid heartbeat when the phone is lost;

  • constant inspection of the gadget;

  • do not turn off the phone, even if necessary;

  • the phone and charger are always with you.

The risk of nomophobia depends on problems completing tasks at work or at home. A person starts doing household chores because he is busy with his gadget. Separation from family and friends.

Moreover, this disease has been recognized as an addiction similar to drug addiction, alcoholism and gambling. In some centers for helping addicted people, this disease is already included in the list of rehabilitation programs, because this phobia can become a serious mental illness.

Remember, physicists explained why time goes so fast when people get old. Scientists suggest that as we age, the speed at which our brain receives and processes images gradually slows down, leading to a temporary difference in memories.
