A train with a speed of 400 km/h will be launched after the end of the final test.
China is preparing to bring a new generation of super -speed train – CR450, which can move at speeds of up to 400 km/h. According to the South China Morning Post, the machine is currently undergoing final trials before putting it on commercial use.
For a long time, the 350 km/h mark remained a limit for trains due to the rapid increase in air resistance. According to project researcher Shao Zyun, speeding speeds by 50 km/h cause an increase in resistance by 30%, and 95% of this resistance creates specific air.
To overcome the barrier, the engineers thought the aerodynamics of the train, inspired by the forms of the fast flying birds. The newly -streamline form of the head part reduced the resistance by 2.6%. Further savings ensure the improvement of the lower part of the body: thanks to the special skin system to cover open parts of the cart, the aerodynamic resistance was reduced by 22%.

Despite increasing speed, CR450 energy consumption remains at the level of the current Fuxing CR400 train, pushing at a speed of up to 350 km/h. That is, freshness is not only faster, but also better energy.
A separate challenge at such a speed is the braking – to stop the CR450 with 400 km/h until a complete stop at a distance of 6.5 km, a new heat -resistant brake material is created. Its development and testing lasted for more than a year.
It is expected that the railway launch in regular operation will take place in the near future.
