In the Azerbaijan territory, archaeologists dug the unique mountain of the middle brass season, where a high warrior was buried. According to popular archeology, the opening was made as part of a project implemented by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture with the Institute of Archeology and Antropology of the National Academy of Sciences. The event in this research was performed annually for the fifth year and attracted about 2,000 participants.
Mountain dates for approximately 78-82 centuries BC. Its diameter is 28 meters, the height is 2 meters. A burial chamber 6 meters long, 3 meters deep, is divided into three parts: one has human remains and personal equipment, the other with ceramic dishes, and the third is left empty – perhaps for the soul of the deceased according to ideas about life after death.
The plot belongs to a warrior over 2 meters high. He was buried in a twisted pose with a copper spear for four tips in his hand – a unique search for the entire South Caucasus. Also, copper jewelry on the ankles, a necklace, obsidian guns and 12 ceramic jugs with complex ornaments and white inlaids were also found nearby. Inside the vessels are the seeds of cooked food (goat, cow, horse, wild boar), which serves as a gift for life.
After the soil layer of 0.5 meters, archaeologists removed 14 stone slabs weighing one ton each laid in a circle. At the top of the mountain, an idol in the shape of a bull is installed. In addition, renal printing -evidence of the early forms of accounting and administrative ownership was discovered.
Each artifact was to be documented and graphic reproduced in the area, and the damaged objects were restored during the excavation. In the future, it is planned to conduct a number of laboratory tests, including radiocarbon dating, isotopic analysis, metallography and mineralogical study of the found.
The results will be published in the international archaeological and anthropological journals. A scientific publication with a description of all artifacts, their photographs, schemes and comments are also prepared for printing.
