After confirming your exit from the program international space station (ISS) after 2024, Russia has detailed plans to build his own orbital ship.
Under the name ROSSthe Russian orbital service station is due to initially launch in 2028 with a full deployment by 2030.
Russia’s plans for ROSS
ROSS It was developed by RKK Energy and is part of a plan by Roscosmos, the Russian space agency.
The spacecraft expects to enter orbit at an altitude of 334 kilometers with an inclination of 96.8°. Later, it will rise to 372 km to monitor the territory of Russia.
From such a height, you can study the poles of the Earth, but, basically, it will serve to study medical experiments on the body’s response to cosmic radiation.
ROSS expects not continuous human presence, but only conditioning or improvement visits.
In 2028, the main NEM module will be launched on the Angara-A5M launch vehicle. In the same year, a six-port docking module will be launched.
Thus, NEM will have two crew cabins and a bathroom. By 2030, it will receive two more cabins and an additional bathroom to accommodate up to four astronauts at the same time, who will go into space twice.
stations in space
Once Upon a Time in Orbit ROSS join Tiangong China and to private stations that POT will support in space. However, he will also spend some time with the ISS, which at best hopes to be in flight until 2030.
POT has already signed a contract for private modules to connect to the docking port of the space station and entered into agreements on space law to design three free-flying commercial space stations to replace ISS in the next decade.
