Paleontologists have discovered a new type of dinosaur the size of a dog. He lived in the territory of modern Colorado about 150 million years ago and ate plants.
Scientists have discovered a new dinosaur species, which lived in modern USA about 150 million years ago.
His remains were found back in 2021–2022 in the State of Colorado, but it was recently possible to confirm that it was a separate species, given the name Enigmacursor Mollyborthwickae. It was reported by CNN with a reference to a study published in the Journal Open Science.
The new species is very small for dinosaurs: about half a meter high and about one meter long – in size resembles a labrador. Dinosaur is herbal medicine and moves to two long legs of hind. Scientists suggest that he is fast enough to flee from predators.
“The small dinosaurs that feed the plants are found to be rarely rare. In fact, finding almost a complete plot, and not some fragments of seeds, is a rare. Therefore, these dinosaurs are quite well -known,” the co -utor of the study, paleontologist Pol Barrett.
The name of the dinosaur is also symbolic: part of “Enigma” means a riddle – after all, scientists in the long run cannot determine what kind of type of outline that belongs to.
In the near future, the Enigmacursor Mollyborthwickae will be part of exposing the Museum of Natural History in London.
