Man dies after being hit by helicopter propeller while trying to take selfie

The cause of the tragedy could be selfie. A man who allegedly tried to take the picture has died after being hit by helicopter blades in Athens, Greece.

The victim was a 22-year-old man named Jack Fenton, and witnesses say they yelled at him to be careful, but he ignored being distracted by his cell phone.

Circumstances of the tragedy

Jack was returning from Mykonos with three friends in a rented helicopter when the tragedy happened.

He disembarked from the helicopter and was struck by a propeller after the aircraft landed at the Superior Air helipad in Spat.

His fellow travelers and the pilot staggered in horror when around 6:20 p.m. local time they saw that the propellers had killed him instantly.

The pilot of the black Bell 407 aircraft, who was reportedly “deeply traumatized” by the incident, and two ground technicians were arrested.
