The launch of the Crew Dragon spacecraft as part of the first cross-flight between Russia and the United States to the ISS will take place no earlier than September 29.
The new cross-flight agreement between NASA and Roscosmos provides for three flights of Russian cosmonauts to the ISS on the Crew Dragon spacecraft of the American company SpaceX. This was said by the commander of the detachment of Russian cosmonauts, Oleg Kononenko, according to the website of the Cosmonaut Training Center on Friday, July 22.

“The agreement provides for three joint flights: on the fifth, sixth and tenth Dragon,” said Kononenko.
In turn, NASA reported that the launch of the Crew Dragon spacecraft as part of the first cross-over flight between Russia and the United States to the ISS will take place no earlier than September 29.
Russian woman Anna Kikina, NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Kassada, as well as Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Koichi Wakata will go to the station.
The second flight under the cross program will take place in the spring of 2023. Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev will go to the ISS on the American spacecraft Crew Dragon, and astronaut Laurel O’Hara will join the crew of Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft.
It was previously reported that Russia was discussing flights of astronauts on Crew Dragon ships. We are talking about the so-called cross flight, when American astronauts went to the ISS in the Russian Soyuz, replacing the astronauts flying in American vehicles.
Such a program was operated until 2011, after which the delivery of crew to the ISS was carried out only by Russian ships. Russia’s monopoly was broken in May 2020 when a SpaceX spacecraft called Crew Dragon-2 took off from Cape Canaveral with four astronauts on board.
