facebook changes its priority in publications and will now allow you to see more videos and photos than news on your wall.
The company is trying to push more video content from creators to users. feeds users, not counting news and mailing lists.
More videos to look younger
As reported for the first time Wall Street MagazineExecutive Director facebookCampbell Brown briefed employees on this shift in priorities in a recent memo.
Brown said the engineering and development teams in facebookowned by Meta will spend less time on the News and Newsletter tabs in the future to “focus on building a stronger contributor economy.”
A spokesman for the company told the publication that “it is evaluating where to allocate resources and that its teams remain committed to the success of creators and are doing even more to find audiences everywhere. facebook and develop interested communities there.”
Facebook will give you less news
In June, changes were announced that facebook the plan was to implement its core algorithm: turn User Walls into a kind of TikTok, focusing on visual content from creators rather than updates from friends.
facebook launched the News tab in 2019, paying organizations like The New York Times and Washington Post to aggregate its content. Here, stories suggested by the interaction were combined with algorithmic recommendations, and media deals were worth millions of dollars.
The newsletter, for its part, was launched in 2021, but didn’t make much of an impact.
