Such a system can be an alternative to research animal models and contribute to the development of new neopioidal refinement drugs that do not cause addiction.

Scientists from Stanford University in California, the United States, first managed to create a synthetic neural scheme in the laboratory, which mimics the path of transmitting pain signals from the skin to the cerebral cortex, MSN reports.

This development can significantly accelerate the appearance of new methods of treatment of chronic disease.

The research team was led by Romanian scientist Sergi Pashka, who in 2017 introduced the concept of donkeys -Blocks to science. The accumulated are a combination of two or more organoids – spherical cell structures or cultivated cells, united to copy the structures and functional properties of the organ.

The pashka group uses stem cells obtained from the human skin to grow four types of organoids of nervous tissue. Among them are both skin sensory neurons and neurons of the cerebral cortex. These four organoids grew separately, and then combined into a bowl. After about 100 days, they grew up in a single assembly about 1 cm long. This model reaches 4 million cells and has shown a varying electrical activity between all segments.

To verify the performance of the created neural network, researchers used Capsaicin – a substance that produces acute peppers. After its use, a strong reaction immediately appeared in the Assocumberge: waves of de -electrical signals immediately spread from “skin” to “brain”.

Sergi Pashka emphasizes: This model does not feel pain in the usual sense, but only imitates the delivery of signals that in a living organism deepen the brain, where an emotional substance of the disease is formed. He also noted that such a system could be an alternative to research animal models and contributed to the development of new neopioidal drugs that did not cause addiction.

Stalford has applied for technology patenting, but has not yet decided to comment on it.

The study was published in The Scientific Journal Nature.

We will remind you, earlier it was reported that scientists first returned to the light with a “solid liquid”.
