Researchers found that dinosaurus was about 3 meters high and weighed about 260 kg. He lived during the Cretaceous period, from 145 to 66 million years ago, living the territory of modern Asia and North America.
The remains of the Duonychus Tsogtbaatari were found in 2012 during the excavation of the Gobi desert, but the final definition of species lasted more than a decade. The age of the found sample is estimated at 90 million years.
It is noteworthy that UNESCO called the Gobi desert one of the largest found in the world, confirming the uniqueness of this region for paleontology.
