Archaeologists from the University of Pennsylvania discovered the king’s grave, which led 3600 years ago.

The Egyptian-American archaeological mission from the University of Pennsylvania found a tomb of the ancient king, which ruled the Abydos region in southern Egypt about 3600 years ago. The discovery was made on the territory of necropolis in Mount Anubis, Artnet reports.

The tomb is located at a depth of seven meters. It contains a lime funeral room covered with arches made of clay brick. At the entrance, the names of the Egyptian goddesses are ISIS and neftids are depicted, symbolizing life and death.

Researchers believe that the grave belongs to one of the leaders of the Abido Dynasty (1630–1539 BC), which existed during the reign of hyksos north of Egypt. However, the king’s name remains mystery, as the hieroglyphs on the walls are damaged by the backward.

According to the general secretary of the Higher Council of Antiquities Egypt, Mohamed Ismail Khaleda, Find provides new evidence of the emergence of tsarists in Abidos and eases the history of a small dynasty.

Archaeologists continue to explore the area and suggest that there may be other funerals this time nearby, which may help to reveal the name of the mysterious leader.
