Under the Sforza castle, scientists found mysterious passages underground, which may correspond to the illustrations of Leonardo da Vinci.
The mysterious underground excerpts, which Leonardo Da Vinci himself may have designed, are discovered by researchers under the Sforza castle in Milan. This was reported by Live Science.
It is believed that they are part of the early military defense, and may have more underground spaces than today.
The Sforza castle, built in the century of XIV, has repeatedly changed throughout the century. Around 1495, the leader of Milan attracted Da Vinci to work in the castle, and among his sketches, plans for forts with multiple passes were found, data about which lost over Time.
Architectural historian Francesca Biolo, along with the researchers’ team, used laser, GPS, 3D radioment and photogrammetry to create a digital model of dungeons. As a result, they found an additional level with rooms and an unknown passage that could match the Leonardo sketch.
“Leonardo da Vinci has identified military structures and defense systems at his time. The main part of the castle, as well as many passages, is clearly visible in its sketch. However, it is impossible to determine the exact level of Leonardo’s the participation in the creation of Milan’s wall structures, “Biolo explained.
According to him, research continues, and, perhaps, there are still hidden movements under the castle, but so far the excavations are impossible.
Earlier it was reported that archaeologists discovered more than a thousand artifacts under Notre Dame.
