With a maximum take-off weight of 500 kilograms, the flight time of an electric car is at least 20 minutes.
In China’s Jiangsu province, a group of researchers from Southeast University developed and introduced the country’s first aeroelectric vehicle, Southeast University Kunpeng No.1. The Global Times reported this.
The electric vehicle has a configuration with four coaxial propellers. But unlike traditional electric VTOL air taxis, the Southeast University Kunpeng No.1 is designed as an integrated ground-air vehicle that combines ground mobility as well as aerial mobility capabilities.
With a maximum take-off weight of 500 kilograms, the flight time of an electric car is at least 20 minutes. It also reaches a maximum height of more than 300 meters. On the road, it can reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h. Currently, the flying electric car has a high capacity battery.
Researchers are also doing further research to extend the flight duration to two hours in the next generation of flying vehicles.
We remind you that the American company Alef Aeronautics presented an unusual flying car called Model A. The first deliveries of the car are planned to begin in 2025. The innovative flying car will be available starting at $299,999.
It was earlier reported that Chinese automaker XPeng has showcased its flying car at the GitexGlobal 2022 exhibition in Dubai.
