The Europa Clipper mission will travel to Jupiter’s moon Europa to explore its ocean floor and the possibility of life, moving closer to answering questions about other habitable worlds.
NASA is preparing to send the Europa Clipper mission to Jupiter’s moon Europa to explore its subsurface oceans and assess its potential habitability. The Guardian reported this.
According to scientists, Europa may have twice as much water as Earth. The mission will launch on October 14 from the Kennedy Space Center after an initial delay due to a storm.
The spacecraft will fly about 3.2 billion kilometers and reach the satellite in 2030. It is equipped with solar panels and cameras for mapping and radar for studying subglacial waters. Scientists plan to investigate traces of organic compounds and the possibility of microbes existing in an environment that supports life.
It was previously reported that powerful Hurricane Milton forced NASA to delay the return of the SpaceX Crew Dragon crew from the ISS.
