Russia approved a schedule for creating a station in orbit

The core of the ROS station is planned to be created from four modules, which will be launched into orbit until 2030.

Roscosmos General Director Yuri Borisov approved the general schedule for the creation of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS). The launch of the first module is scheduled for the end of 2027, the state corporation announced on Tuesday, July 2.

It is indicated that the schedule includes work on the design and manufacture of station modules, ensuring flight testing of a new generation manned transport spacecraft, the creation of launch vehicles and ground-based space infrastructure facilities, and the work of scientific institutions in industry. to support the project.

“The deployment of the station is planned to begin with the launch of the scientific and energy module in 2027,” the statement said.

“As part of the implementation of the federal project, the core of the station is planned to be created from four modules that will be launched into orbit until 2030: scientific and energy (NEM-ROS), universal hub (UUM), gateway (SHM) and base (BM)” , – said Roscosmos.

In the second phase, in the period from 2031 to 2033, it is planned to dock two more target modules.

The total planned amount of financing for the project is 608.9 billion rubles (about 6.9 billion dollars – ed.).

Let’s remember that Russia has decided to stay on the International Space Station (ISS) until 2028. This was reported by Yuri Borisov.

Earlier, the same Borisov announced Russia’s intention to leave the ISS after 2024, but then the exact date was not given. Also in Russia they predicted an avalanche of breakdowns in the ISS after 2025.

And the scientific and technical council of Roscosmos even decided to build a new orbital space station to replace the ISS.
