The Gaojing series satellites, also known as SuperView, are highly sensitive commercial remote sensing spacecraft, weighing approximately 560 kg and having a service life of at least eight years.
China launched a new highly sensitive Earth remote sensing satellite, Gaojing-301, into space on April 15, Xinhua reported.
The spacecraft was launched into orbit by a Long March-2D launch vehicle from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert in northwest China. The current mission is the 516th flight of the Long March series launch vehicles.
The Gaojing series satellites, also known as SuperView, are highly sensitive commercial remote sensing spacecraft, weighing approximately 560 kg and having a service life of at least eight years.
The satellites of this series are equipped with cameras for black-and-white imaging with a high spatial resolution of 0.5 m and multispectral imaging with a resolution of 2 m collect data from an area of up to 700,000 km² everyday.
The new satellite will provide commercial remote sensing services for new industries such as digital agriculture, urban infrastructure modeling and real-time 3D modeling, as well as traditional fields including surveying and mapping, marine monitoring, disaster prevention and mitigation.
Let’s remember that on March 27, China launched into space a new satellite for remote sensing of the Earth, Yunhai-3 02, which will make it possible to predict natural disasters with higher accuracy and prevent their disasters that consequence.
It was also reported that South Korea, with the help of the United States, launched its second military reconnaissance satellite into space on April 7, whose main purpose is to monitor the territory of the DPRK.
