A solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon in which the disk of the Sun is completely or partially covered by the Moon.
Astronomers had a unique opportunity to study the solar eclipse that occurred on April 8, 2024 thanks to satellite images. Space.com reported it.
The 2024 total solar eclipse is visible in parts of the United States, Canada and Mexico today, mesmerizing millions of viewers – and from space, satellites will be able to see the Moon’s shadow falling across these regions in real time.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) presented the resulting images from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) series.
The NOAA-20 weather satellite was able to show the difference between the dark and dark parts of North America in Earth orbit.
