After the huge success of “Hogwarts Legacy”, the president of Warner Bros. states that the Harry Potter franchise should get new games
ATTENTION, POTTERHEADS! During a recent interview with Variety (via Comic Book), the president of Warner Bros. interactiveentertainment, David Haddadrevealed that, after the enormous success of “Hogwarts Legacy”, the franchise Harry Potter should receive new games in the future — including a sequel to the title released in 2023.
It is worth remembering that, this week, Warner Bros. revealed that “Hogwarts Legacy” surpassed the impressive mark of 22 million copies sold in the year 2023, where, in December alone, around 2 million units were sold.
“It’s not just the unit sold that I’m so proud of, it’s just that it delighted the fans so much. It brought the Harry Potter universe to life in a new way for players, where they could be themselves in this world, in this story. And that’s what the team set out to do when they were developing the game and I think that’s really why it resonated so well and continues to be the best-selling game of the year across the industry across the world. This is a position that is normally occupied by one of the sequel games in these franchises and we are very proud that we managed to reach the top.”, said David.
Haddad continued his speech by stating that, currently, “There are a number of other things, which have not yet been announced, that will allow fans to be part of this world and increasingly deeper stories and characters. We can explore different paths.”.
New games
One of the games inspired by Harry Potter already confirmed by Warner Bros. is the Quidditch game, which does not yet have a release date. However, David Haddad assured that developers are seeking to create the best experience for fans.
“We have no specific announcement about exactly how and when [o jogo de Quadribol] will hit the market, but we are working to ensure that it is designed in a way that delights fans.”
