Last month, the company successfully implanted the chip in its first patient, gaining approval for human trials.
American billionaire Elon Musk says that a person with a Neuralink chip implanted in his brain can control a computer mouse with his thoughts. It was reported by Reuters.
“Progress is good and the patient appears to have made a full recovery, with no side effects that we know of. The patient is able to move the mouse on the screen with just his thoughts,” he wrote in his X page.
He also added that Neuralink is now trying to get as many mouse clicks from the patient as possible.
It was noted that the company’s initial goal was to allow people to control a computer cursor or keyboard with their thoughts.
At the same time, Musk said that in the future chips will be able to treat some diseases, such as obesity, autism, depression and schizophrenia.
It was previously reported that Neuralink received a decision from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to test brain implants in humans.
