A large number of stone, bone and antler artifacts were found at the Chuangdong site in the southwestern Chinese province of Guizhou.

In China’s southwestern Guizhou province, archaeologists have discovered a large number of stone, bone and horn artifacts made by ancient people more than 55,000 years ago. This was reported by Xinhua.

The Guizhou site, first discovered in 1978, is believed to have existed during the late Middle Paleolithic, Late Paleolithic and Neolithic periods.

The current excavations at this site are the third since the discovery of ancient history and have lasted for almost two years. During this period, archaeologists discovered a new layer of soil, where they found more than 100 thousand animal bones, more than 10,000 clay and stone vessels, and more than 2,500 objects made of bone or horn

Among the artifacts found, scientists discovered a fossilized molar tooth of Neoanthropus Homo sapiens, the ancestor of modern Homo sapiens, aged 50,000 to 60,000 years.

They also excavated three graves dating back about 10,000 years, which revealed human bones and bone artifacts, including a bone fishhook.

The previous two excavations yielded more than 10,000 pottery, bone artifacts, animal and human fossils, and two nearly complete human skulls.

It was previously reported that a medieval glove dating back to the 14th century was found in excavations southeast of Kyburg Castle.
