With just a few minutes of training videos and a $1,000 investment, you can clone a human streamer to work 24/7.
In China, they created avatars of streamers to sell goods in marketplaces. This was reported by the MIT Technology Review.
It is noted that they look like people, but are controlled by neural networks and work around the clock. The movements of their lips almost match what they say, but there are also times when it seems unnatural.
Digital “clones” are trained on videos of real people to speak and act like a human, and the most advanced models can monitor live comments and find relevant responses to their database to respond in real time, so it looks like this, as if the AI streamer is actively talking to the audience.
Creating a basic avatar costs the customer about 8,000 yuan ($1,100). If a customer wants to create a more complex and more capable streamer, then the price can increase to several thousand dollars. In addition to generation, this cost includes annual maintenance.
It was previously reported that in Germany, artificial intelligence was used for the first time as a preacher in a temple.
