Blue tick owners can read up to six thousand messages per day, users without it up to 600 messages, and new users up to 300 messages.
Twitter owner Elon Musk has imposed daily reading limits on all users to address “severe levels” of data collection and system manipulation. Musk announced this on Saturday, July 1, at Twitter.
Now, owners of verified accounts (with a blue checkmark) can read up to six thousand messages per day.
Users of unverified accounts can read up to 600 messages per day, and new accounts are limited to 300 messages per day.
Musk called the restrictions temporary, but did not say how long they would last.
Some social media users reported seeing a message on Saturday saying “Speed limit exceeded” – and RIP Twitter and #Twitterdown started trending on social media.
Earlier it was reported that Elon Musk intends to change the name of Twitter to X.
It was also reported that according to Fidelity, the social network Twitter is now worth a third of what Elon Musk paid for it at the end of last year. He admitted he overpaid for Twitter, which he bought for $44 billion, including a $33.5 billion net worth.
