NASA shows sea level rise over 30 years

It has been found that in the last 30 years, the world’s sea level has risen by just over nine centimeters.

NASA researchers have developed an animation that clearly shows how the level of the World Ocean has changed over the past 30 years. Science Alert writes about it.

The rendering was done by Andrew Christensen. He used data on global sea level changes, recorded by satellites flying over the Earth from 1993 to 2022.

Millions of people will be affected by sea level rise, scientists say: coastlines are likely to disappear.

“In fact, the top few meters of the ocean retain as much heat as Earth’s entire atmosphere. When seawater warms, it expands, raising sea levels. That’s why this animation can look at people to environmental problems in a different way, showing that they are all very real and growing faster than we expect,” experts added.

It will be remembered that last year the temperature of the oceans rose to a record level.

The UN has adopted a historic agreement to protect the oceans
