In Lviv, in the hospital of St. Panteleimon, a 13-kilogram tumor was removed from a woman. This was reported by the press service of the First Medical Association of Lviv.
The patient is a 53-year-old teacher from the city of Khotyn. About four years ago, a neoplasm appeared on the woman’s ovary, which she did not know about. The tumor progresses painlessly. The woman gradually gained weight, and in March 2023, the tumor rapidly grew to a massive size.
When the woman sought medical help, the local doctors were shocked by what they saw. He was taken to the emergency room.
It was noted that the patient was admitted to the hospital of St. Panteleimon in a stable serious condition with a deformed abdomen, loss of muscle mass, severe weakness and excess fluid in the pleural cavity. He needs immediate surgery.
According to doctors, the woman was lucky, because the tumor did not spread to adjacent organs and structures.
Doctors removed the neoplasm measuring 35 by 25 cm. The operation took two hours and was successful.
