Neurosurgeons found the fragment under the operating x-ray and removed it using a special magnet.
In Kiev, doctors operated on a 25-year-old resident of Uman, who suffered from a rocket attack: a fragment of a rocket went through the entire left hemisphere of his brain, but the doctors managed to save him and hope that the rehabilitation will be successful. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
On April 28, when the Russians fired rockets at Uman, Irina and her mother were sleeping at home. They live next to the house that was hit by the rocket. Paramedics diagnosed a brain injury.
The girl was taken to Kyiv – to the 17th hospital, which specialized in complex head injuries since the Maidan era.
“A centimeter fragment passed through the entire left hemisphere of the brain and stopped at the back of the girl’s head. Doctors say that there is less than half a centimeter left before the venous vessel – then death is inevitable. The neurosurgeon who operated on the girl admitted that the fact that she survived was a real miracle, and that she was conscious and able to speak – nothing to say,” said the Ministry of Health.
Neurosurgeons found the fragment under the operating x-ray and removed it using a special magnet.
It will be remembered that during the mass attack by the Russians on April 28, one of the missiles hit a high-rise building in Uman.
As a result of the rocket attacks, 23 people died, including five children.
