In Ukraine, even under the conditions of martial law, molecular surveillance on COVID-19 strains spreading in our country does not stop.
The outbreak of COVID-19 is not expected in Ukraine in the near future. This was stated by the chief doctor of the state sanitary Igor Kuzin. He also named reasons why the incident would not escalate.
“First, we continued molecular surveillance on the strains spreading in our territory. For example, since the beginning of the war, more than 750 studies and sequencing have been conducted. And according to the result of such monitoring, we have only recorded the spread of Omicron strain.So far, nothing is strange.second, because of seasonality.In summer, more people are outside than indoors.Third, most strains enter the country due to population migration and travel to other “Although many Ukrainians are now returning from abroad, but we are talking about neighboring countries. Igor Kuzin also stressed that there is now very little information about the new strain recorded in China, and therefore it is too early to make any predictions. At the same time, the fact that coronavirus variants have mutated is expected and objective from the point of view of epidemiology.
Recall, earlier it was reported that a drug against the coronavirus will soon appear in Ukraine. The anti-covid drug Molnupiravir was purchased at the expense of the state budget.
