Layoffs in large technology companies do not stop, and job search services do not bypass.

It happened with Reallywhich announced on Wednesday the dismissal of about 2,200 people.

“My heart is broken to tell you that I have made the difficult decision to cut our workforce through layoffs. I really hoped that I would never have to make this decision,” Chris Hyams said in a message that was first shared with employees Really and then published on the company’s official page.

This is a rather large “cut”, affecting 15% of the payroll.

“We expect about 2,200 people to leave. This is about 15% of our team. Abbreviations come from almost every team, role, level, and region. Really And Really Flex,” he said.

Really It will provide benefits such as six weeks of base pay or two weeks per year of service (whichever is greater), in addition to other assistance such as employment and mental health services.

Really: why are you laying off employees?

With a very slow job market, Indeed seemed destined for a pay cut. Chris Hyams explains:

“With future job openings at or below the pre-pandemic level, our organization is simply too big for what lies ahead. We need clarity, focus and urgency so that all of our energies are directed towards investing in our future. We have lasted longer than many other companies, but the earnings momentum is undeniable. So I decided to act now.”
