The device with a laser projector will go on sale this summer. The cost of the camera is $600.
The Japanese company Sony has released a camera for people with poor eyesight. The device is equipped with a laser projector. This was reported by The Verge.
The device was created jointly with the Japanese company QD Laser.
The device consists of a Sony DSC-HX99 camera and a laser projector mounted on the viewfinder. And the built-in projector allows you to direct the image captured by the camera in real time directly to the retina.
The company’s engineers noticed that in this way users with myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism will see a clear image. However, they do not need other medical devices.
The camera has an 18-megapixel sensor and a 24-720mm lens. On one battery charge, it can work for up to four hours.
“We continue to use creativity and technology to make our products, services and experiences more accessible,” said Yang Cheng, Sony Vice President.
