NASA researchers and scientists around the world regularly scan the sky for asteroids that could be dangerous to Earth.
In the coming days, four large asteroids will fly by Earth. On Tuesday, February 28, Space.com reported in connection with NASA.
As noted by experts, they do not threaten the inhabitants of the Earth, because they will not approach our planet closer than 3.5 million kilometers.
“In the list of potentially dangerous asteroids, NASA includes objects that approach Earth at a distance of less than 7.5 million kilometers and have a diameter of more than 150 meters,” the space agency said.
Among the asteroids that will fly by our planet is 2012 DK31 with a diameter of 137 meters, passing at a distance of 4.8 million kilometers from Earth. Asteroid – 2006 BE55. It has a diameter of 137 meters and flies past the Earth at a distance of 3.5 million kilometers from the Earth.
On Friday, March 3, two large asteroids will fly by Earth. These are the 2007 ED125 with a diameter of 213 meters and the 2021 QW with a diameter of 76 meters.
We remind you, earlier about 30 thousand potentially dangerous asteroids approached the Earth. They are located 45 million km from the orbital path of the planet.
Earlier, NASA’s Juno spacecraft sent back stunning new images of the gas giant Jupiter. They, most likely, may be the last, because technical problems have been identified with the device.
