The Tianzhou-4 ship will deliver supplies for astronauts over a six-month period, spare parts and research equipment to the station.
China launched the Tianzhou-4 cargo spacecraft on May 10 local time to deliver supplies to its Tiangong space station, which is due to be completed this year. Xinhua reported this on Tuesday, May 10.
It is indicated that the Long March-7 Y5 launch vehicle will be launched from the Wenchang Cosmodrome in Hainan Province in South China.
Like previous cargo flights, the Tianzhou-4 will carry three categories of supplies to the station, including supplies for astronauts over a six-month period, spare parts for space station maintenance and research equipment.
The total mass of the possible payload that the device can deliver to the station is approximately 6.8 tons.
The Tianzhou-4 will later be docked with an orbital complex consisting of the main module of the Tianhe space station and the Tianzhou-3 cargo ship.

There is currently no active crew at Tiangong Station. In April, three cosmonauts left him on the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft, which worked at the station for a total of six months.
The arrival of the next crew, who will also spend half a year at the station, on the ship Shenzhou-14 is scheduled for June this year.
It is expected that on the planned completion date for the construction of the station (end of 2022), another cargo ship, the Tianzhou-5, will visit here.
The creation of a full -fledged orbital station should be completed by 2022. Six more launches are planned for the base module. In particular, two laboratory modules, Wentian and Mentian, should be docked here.
The total weight of the Tiangong station, located at an altitude of 400 km, after its completion is about 90 tons. It will be five times smaller than the ISS and will be able to accommodate three crew members on a full-time basis (and up to six when changing crews). The life of the Chinese space station is approximately 10 years.
It will be recalled that in 2021, China made a record number of launches into space – 55. The second place was taken by the United States – 51 launches.
