Samsung does not want to lose its leadership in the global mobile sector, and the competition does not intend to give it rest. Aware of this increasingly threatening situation, the South Korean firm is bringing in UNPACKED which aims to reinforce this excellence in the telephony segment, and NIUSGEEK is already in San Francisco provide details.
This UNPACKED could be the first full-scale in-person event since Samsung unveiled the S20 range in the same US city in 2020 — the first to match the nomenclature by year since the S10 in 2019 — and show the birth of the Z Flip line. After the pandemic, the brand opted for remote streaming and, until August 2022, a hybrid model in which journalists travel to the site to watch the same broadcast that the rest of the planet sees on official channels.
Usually Twice a year there are UNPACKED telephony events: one to present the range Galaxy C – Usually it’s San Francisco. since 2019, after participating in MWC 2018 in Barcelona for S9 and in New York for S8, as well as in New York for Z Fold and Z Flip folding models from 2022, replacing the announcement of the extinct Galaxy Note line six months later.
Samsung UNPACKED 2023: what to expect

There are several surprises we can expect. To begin with, the Galaxy S series update with three new products is taken for granted, which definitively rules out the existence of the FE version. These three phones will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor unveiled at the end of the year. However, according to various rumors, the Californian firm has developed a special version for the S23. This is if acknowledged during UNPACKED; this would put Samsung at the pinnacle of performance.
Having figured out the formula of pairing the on-duty S Ultra with the benefits of the Note line, Samsung may repeat the strategy with the more expensive S23 by adding an S-Pen. The rest of the “traditional” models S23 and S23 + will not undergo major changes.
Samsung UNPACKED 2023: Will there be more besides phones?

As of 2020, Samsung announces its peripherals in the second UNBOXED year, coinciding with foldables. For example, in 2022, along with the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, the new Galaxy Z appeared. It will be very rare to see a new version of TWS or watches in this February session.
In terms of tablets, these teams typically have an update frequency every year and a half, with the Tab S8 being the latest version introduced in the first UNPACKED of 2022, along with the S22. Prior to this, the Tab S7 and S7+ entered the market in mid-2020 along with the Note 20 Ultra. Unlikely to be announced in this UNPACKED.
The audiovisual part of Samsung has already been presented at CES 2023, a technology event held in Las Vegas in the early days of January. Laptops? They could be, but these are devices with a limited presence in international markets and Peru is not involved in this rollout. Let’s hope Samsung changes this strategy in the future because brands like Huawei, Honor and LG have used their “ecosystem” concept to enter the Windows market. No problem.
Samsung UNPACKED how to watch live?
The event will take place at 10am San Francisco local time (1pm Peruvian time) and will take place at SF Masonic Auditorium, half a block from Huntington Park.
To watch the event live and not miss the announcements, you need to turn on the broadcast reminder on the Samsung YouTube channel. We encourage you to follow us on Instagram as NIUSGEEK’s Alberto Nishiyama is already in San Francisco to give us all the details.
