Japan launched this Thursday rocket space to launch a new reconnaissance satellite designed to monitor the weather to improve response to potential natural disasters, as well as to monitor military operations.

rocket number 46 H2Aoperated by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, took off around 10-11 am local time from the Space Center on Tanegashima Island, in the southwest of the Japanese archipelago, a day later than expected due to bad weather in the area with a strong cold wave.

Advantages of the Japanese satellite

satellite it entered its planned orbit without incident, the company later confirmed.

radar satellite Launched today, it is capable of capturing images of the ground even at night and during periods of very adverse weather conditions, so the Japanese authorities hope that it will facilitate data transmission in the event of a natural disaster to improve their response in this scenario.

This sensitivity would also make it possible to track movements in nearby military installations, such as in North Korea, as other similar devices in orbit already do.

rocket H2A liquid fuel has a length of 53 meters and a diameter of four meters.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plans to launch its new H3 rocket, developed jointly with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), for the first time. H2A. /EFE/
