Tesla engineer made sure that the video of the company in which the car uses the system Autopilot driving and parking alone is a farce.
As part of the lawsuit against Tesla, Ashok Elluswamithe autopilot engineer, stated that the video was false and only represented “what could be included in the system”.
Case
The lawsuit against the company was filed by the family of software engineer Walter Huang, who died in a car accident. Tesla in 2018. His relatives pointed out that it was Autopilot that caused the accident.
In a 2016 video Tesla shows the company car driving and parking thanks to this feature. “The person in the driver’s seat is only there for legal reasons. He does not do anything. The car drives itself,” reads the description.
However, according to Elluswami, “the purpose of the video was not to show exactly what was available to customers in 2016, but to show what could be included in the system.”
For the same reason, Huang’s family condemned Tesla because “it would be misleading to show this video without any disclaimer or asterisk.”
Software improvement
Tesla this autopilot system has been repeatedly mentioned in the news.
From California, companies have been banned from advertising the benefits of “fully autonomous driving.”
